Help students stay engaged and prepare for class with
Freeman's Readiness Readings
Available with our Introducing the Life Sciences course, Scott Freeman’s Readiness Readings are:
- Aligned to NSF-funded, nationally endorsed learning objectives that provide biology majors with clear expectations of what they should know and be able to do.
- Streamlined and written for students. Students read only the content they need for each class session, which reduces their inclination to try to memorize.
- Active and engaging. Students answer guiding questions while they read and practice metacognition by marking sections clear or muddy.
- Customizable. Instructors can customize every element of a Readiness Reading to match exactly what they want to teach.
- Assignable. Instructors can assign readings for points—making students accountable for reading—and track their progress in the instructor application.
