Evidence-based strategies for A&P: What high structure can do for your course

Teaching Anatomy & Physiology this fall? Wondering how to better support your students—before, during, and after class?

Join us from 4-5 p.m. EASTERN for a practical summer session with Dr. Justin Shaffer, author of High Structure Course Design: An Evidence-Based Guide for Designing, Implementing, and Assessing STEM Courses. Justin will share strategies for increasing structure and clarity in your A&P course—from writing learning outcomes and designing in-class activities, to improving how students prepare and follow up outside of class. Whether you’re new to high structure or already experimenting, this session will offer tools you can apply right away.

Following the seminar, Erin Vinson, Education Support Specialist at Codon Learning, will demonstrate how our Anatomy & Physiology course aligns with high structure principles—supporting active learning with built-in scaffolding and metacognitive skill development.

Can’t attend live? No problem! Register anyway, and we’ll send you the recording to watch at your convenience.
